Travel

Travel Soccer is an opportunity. Through it players are exposed to a higher level of competition than is experienced in a Recreation League. Travel Soccer requires a serious commitment from both players and families. Team play is stressed, as is the development of skills to enhance a player’s ability to play and understand the game. The Coach selects a player to a team. This is accomplished using try-outs where a player must perform group and singular drills and will be awarded points for abilities. Once players are selected the Soccer Club recommends that all players be provided an opportunity to actively participate in the game. However, each player must play ½ a game per East Hudson Youth Soccer League rules, unless a team is playing in the top level of their age group during the Fall and Spring season league games.  Tournament rules are governed by the host of the particular tournament the team is attending.

Travel Soccer also includes three seasons. 1. Outdoor Fall season, 2. Indoor Training / Tournament season, and 3. Outdoor Spring season The Soccer Club will hold a primary registration in May. This registration will be for the upcoming season, and will cover all three seasons. Tryouts will be held shortly thereafter (if necessary), usually in early June. Tryouts must be held early as with travel registration to allow schedules, passes etc. to be created by East Hudson Youth Soccer League. East Hudson Youth Soccer League requires that a minimum of eight players be registered 30 days before September 1. Parents must sign an US Youth Soccer parent consent form, inclusive of a medical release, provide an updated head shot picture and a copy of their child’s birth certificate.
